flares – blowers and RTO systems – Gastechnik Himmel.

Headquartered in Korneuburg, near Vienna, Austria, GT-Himmel specializes in the design and manufacture of high-performance components and turnkey systems in environmental engineering. The company’s expertise lies in biogas, landfill gas, and specialized gas plants. In partnership with generizon, GT-Himmel provides a comprehensive portfolio, including low, medium, and high-temperature flares, advanced gas blowers and compressors, and Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (RTO) systems for efficient lean gas disposal.
medium-temperature flare MTU.
The MTU flare is designed for the thermal disposal of combustible surplus gases such as in biogas, sewage and landfill gas, and special gasses, optional with or without an ATEX certified compressor.
- Volume flow: 50-3000Nm3/h.
- Fuel: bio, landfill, special gases.
- Heat value. 35-95% CH4.
- Gas pressure: min. 20mbar without compressor, min. 1mbar with blower.
- Flanges: DN50-DN250.
- Ignition: High Voltage 10kV.
- Flame control: UV-Cell.
- Weather-resistant and fully wired control cabinet.
- Concealed and homogeneous burning > 850°C.
- Fare-length according to customer wish.
- Fully automatic control and monitoring of the electric ignition during operation, direct ignition with high voltage electrodes or pilot burner.

flare system MTU-v.
Developed from the modular MTU series, the MTU-v (variable) is a compact solution designed to replace conventional low-temperature NTF flares. This ‘free burn-out’ flare meets the increasingly stringent global emission reduction standards. Available in four configurations—with or without an integrated blower—the MTU-v is delivered as a ‘plug-and-play’ unit, fully optimized for immediate operation.
high-temperature flare HT.
The HTF series is engineered for high-performance operation, featuring concealed combustion with automated exhaust temperature control maintained at a minimum of 1000°C and a retention time of at least 0.3 seconds. The combustion chamber is lined with specialized heat-resistant ceramic insulation (rated up to 1220°C) and equipped with an automatic air flap. Upon receiving a start signal and detecting gas pressure, the system initiates a fully automated ignition and temperature regulation sequence.

special gases flares.

There is no gas that is too hot for GT-Himmel: Innovations, test systems and special requests – any flare can be designed to your requirements.
Several combustion systems and processes including complete control technology are possible.
Possible applications are wood gas, geothermal energy, synthesis gas, pyrolysis gas, sewage gas, flash gas, optional adjustment of the calorific value for weak gases by adding natural gas or propane gas, heat extraction for emergency heating, and more.
Mobile gas flares with an integrated gas compressor and suction pressure monitoring are available.
RTO – lean gas treatment – regenerative thermal oxidation system.
Landfill gas from old landfills still contains methane levels of 2-20%, which can be treated (destroyed) in Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO).
RTO ensures the safe, oxidative disposal of non-combustible lean gases. The process begins by diluting the lean gas with fresh air before passing it through a preheated ceramic reactor bed, where organic compounds and residual methane undergo flameless oxidation at temperatures exceeding 1000°C. The system utilizes electric heating for start-up, eliminating the need for auxiliary burners and ensuring a low NOx process. Once the operating temperature is reached, the system maintains thermal equilibrium, destroying methane without further external energy input.
- Lean gas treatment.
- For end-of-life landfills.
- Replaces the flare.
- For gases in gas treatment plants.
- Use of gas in industrial production processes.
- Fameless oxidation.
- >1000°C.
- Preheating by electric resistances.
- Low on NOx.
