2G CHP plant in Haßfurt harbor.
2G CHP plant in Haßfurt harbor. The hydrogen is produced by a power-to-gas plant in Haßfurter Hafen, which uses surplus electricity from the wind farm in the nearby Sailershäuser Wald to electrolysis the water. In the CHP plant, the hydrogen is then converted back to electricity or heat with efficiencies of over 85 percent as needed.

2G/generizon’s H2 offer?

  • Decentralized electricity production,
    • from natural gas (NG), with some H2 mixed into the NG,
    • from pure H2.
  • Potential for the integrated use of 2G combined heat and power plants in renewable-source installations.
    • excess electricity from renewable generation will be used
    • together with fast start-up electrolysis
    • to produce green hydrogen H2
    • H2-only pipeline grid,
    • for ammonia and the production of fertilizer,
    • for fuel cells,
    • for storage to be released for industry,
    • for storage to be released to H2 → power/heat cogeneration plants,
    • for grid stabilization, help to balance variation in demand and supply in a low-carbon integrated grid.
    • etc.
  • Since 2012 2G has developed and operates a CHP on 100% hydrogen.
  • 17 references, 2022, US, UK, Dubai.
  • Energy grid management.
  • Hydrogen CHP completes the storage chain.
  • Engines currently available at 2G: agenitor SG 115kW, 170kW, 240kW, and 360kW electric power.

H2-ready. making the future possible.

hydrogen combined heat and power.

Hydrogen is given an important role in the implementation of the energy transition. This fact is also recently reflected in the “New Green Deal” of the EU Commission. The CHP plants from 2G can be operated with hydrogen. Even the 2G power plants that are delivered today for operation with natural gas are easy to convert on-site, i.e. at the site, for operation with pure hydrogen or a gas-hydrogen mixture. This means that 2G power plants are future-proof and can remain in use in the long term, even if the energy supply is completely climate neutral.

Today, natural gas can be used for 2G CHP plants to save energy costs in a climate-friendly manner. The 2G technology is already equipped to ensure hydrogen capability with a manageable investment and little effort.

The 2G modules are H2-ready – today and in the future.
